Level 2 Award Food Safety – Manufacturing: what is covered?
A detailed look at relevant food legislation is the focus of the first of four modules on this training programme.
You will be given a strong understanding of the regulations in place to prevent the avoidable contamination of food, and will finish the course knowing exactly what you need to do to comply with those laws.
In the second module, students will be asked to consider all potential contamination hazards – from delivery to service – in the food supply chain.
These will range from physical and biological hazards through to allergenic and chemical hazards. Each will be examined in detail, and students who complete this module will emerge with a much greater awareness of the hazards that poor food hygiene can create.
Module three moves on to risk control and preventing food contamination. Students are given demonstrations and instructions on to how to most effectively tidy, clean, wash up and maintain excellent personal hygiene.
Finally, the fourth and last module of this course considers the threat pests pose to good food safety and hygiene.
Students learn about how to protect premises from pests – a vital step in ensuring a clean, hygienic and safe operating environment for all food manufacturing businesses.
